JOHN DREESE MENNENOH, 78, of Morrison, IL, died January 2, 2007 at home with his family.John was born on October 30, 1928 in Northbrook, IL, the son of John and Hedwig Dreese Mennenoh. He married Ann Seston Belt on July 25, 1953 at Union Church in Hinsdale, IL.He will be remembered lovingly by his wife Ann Mennenoh of Morrison; daughter, Linda M. (Stephen) Harbers of Marietta, GA; sons, Daniel D. (Merry) Mennenoh of Galena, IL and Bill (Ketie) Mennenoh of Marietta, GA; grandchildren Jessica K. Harbers of Chicago, IL, Matthew S. (fianc"e Meredith Zaring) Harbers of Atlanta, GA, Rachel E. Harbers of Marietta, GA, Devon M. (Brian) Irby of Las Vegas, NV, Cody D. Mennenoh of Chicago, IL, David H. and Ekaterina M. Mennenoh, both of Marietta, GA. He was a graduate of Highland Park High School, Bradley University and John Marshall Law School. His military service with the U.S. Army (1954 " 1956) took him to 8th Army Headquarters at Camp Zama in Japan. After his military service, he served as Vice President with the Chicago Title and Trust Company and subsequently owned H.B. Wilkinson Title and Abstract in Morrison. He retired in 1996. He was active in his community throughout his life and served as Chairman of the Group Insurance Committee for the American Land Title Association, President of the Illinois Land Title Association, Paul Harris Fellow Recipient and President of the Morrison Rotary Club, Director of the Whiteside County Bank, President of the Whiteside County Bar Association, and Treasurer and Chairman of the Whiteside County Cancer Society. As a young man, he earned his Eagle Scout badge and was honored with the Order of the Arrow.He was first and foremost a loving husband, father and grandfather. Included among his many interests was gardening and a love of roses, golfing, collecting stamps, winemaking, building dollhouses for his granddaughters, serving as an election judge and an enthusiast of railroads. He was preceded in death by his parents.
