Obituary for John L. Hook
JOHN L. HOOK, 81, of Prophets Riverview Good Samaritan Center, Prophetstown, IL, and formerly of Morrison, IL, died Sunday, June 18, 2006 at the center. John was born May 16, 1925, in Fulton, IL, to Earl and Grace (Blink) Hook. He was educated in the Teehan Grade School in rural Fulton, and attended Fulton High School. He married Loretta Jean Eizenga on August 24, 1945 in Morrison, IL. He lived in Morrison for 60 years and had been employed for 42 years at Potter Lumber, later known as J.A. Bull Lumber, in Morrison. He was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison. Survivors include his wife, Loretta; three daughters, Sandy (Mrs. Jim) Rosenow of Morrison, Peggy (Mrs. Jerry) Miller of Springfield, IL and Penny (Mrs. Kent) Roman of Prophetstown, IL; one son, Dan (Joan) Hook of Morrison, IL; eight grandchildren, Nicole (Mrs. Rich) Schmitz, Lisa Schantz, Terry (Wendy) Roman, Lindsay (Mrs. Rodney) Reams, Melissa (Jack Collins) Miller, Lisa Rosenow, Jody (Mrs. Scott)Shanle and Shana (Mrs. Joe) Meland; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Jenny (Mrs. LaVerne) Rose of Fair Haven, IL. He was preceded in death by one still born son, Terry John; three brothers, Epa, Isaac and Don Hook.
