Obituary for Henry L. Norman
HENRY L. NORMAN, 86, of Harbor Crest Nursing Home, Fulton, IL, died Thursday, February 9, 2006, at the nursing home. Henry was born September 21, 1919 in Fulton, IL, to Edward and Lizzie (Pounstra) Norman. He attended Fulton, IL grade schools and graduated from Fulton High School. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Henry married Cora Mae Van Zuiden on April 22, 1949 in Fulton, IL. She died September 29, 2002. He was employed as a purchasing agent for the former Patent Novelty Co. in Fulton. Henry was a member of Trinity Reformed Church in Fulton where he served as an elder on consistory, taught adult Sunday School, was a member of the church choir, and was active in the church"s Men"s League. He had typed and printed the church bulletin for many years. He was secretary for the Classis of Illinois for the Reformed Church of America, was a lay pastor, and was involved with the jail ministry. He was a volunteer at the Fulton Food Pantry and was a 16 gallon donor for the Blood Bank. Survivors include one daughter, Susan (Mrs. Steve) Stromquist of Durand, IL; one brother, Elvin (Eunice) Norman of Sioux Center, IA. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Josephine Prins and Etta Tiesman.
