Obituary for Stella G. Buikema
STELLA G. BUIKEMA, 91, of Pleasant View Nursing Home, Morrison, IL, died Sunday, November 12, 2006 at the nursing home. Stella was born November 8, 1915 in Morrison, IL, to Rank R. and Minnie (Fossen) Buikema. She was educated in rural Whiteside County schools. Stella was first employed at Volckmann"s Furniture Factory in Morrison and then did private duty child care. She later was a dietary aid at Morrison Community Hospital and then returned to private duty child care. She was a lifetime member of Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison where she was involved with Girls League. Stella enjoyed sewing, needlework, crocheting, making braided rugs, and word search puzzles. Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Janet Tichler of Morrison, IL and Mrs. Ella Mae Pruis of Sterling, IL; one brother, Renzie Buikema of Morrison, IL. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy June Richmond and Betty J. Hey and one brother, John H. Buikema.
