Obituary for Robert Willetts
ROBERT J. WILLETTS, 91, of Prophetstown, IL, died Saturday, January 6, 2018, at Prophetstown Good Samaritan Center in Prophetstown.
The funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 13, 2018, at the Prophetstown United Methodist Church with visitation from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Rev. Mark Meyers, pastor of Prophetstown United Methodist Church, will officiate. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Prophetstown, IL. The Bosma-Gibson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Bob was born October 10, 1926 in Kewanee, IL, to Albert and Myrtle (Bates) Willetts. He was educated in the Kewanee grade schools and was a graduate of Kewanee High School- Kewanee, IL. Bob served during World War II and was a veteran of the United States Army. He married Elaine J. Hepner on October 19, 1947 in Kewanee, IL. She died February 13, 2017. Bob was employed with John Deere until his retirement. He was a member of the Prophetstown United Methodist Church, the Prophetstown American Legion, and the United Auto Workers. A memorial to Prophetstown United Methodist Church has been established.
Survivors include one daughter, Dawn Willetts of Prophetstown, IL; one son, Mark Willetts of Sarasota, FL; four grandchildren, Christopher Maloof, Lyndsey Maloof, Jodi (Billy) Alligood, and Aaron (Jennifer) Maloof; nine great-grandchildren; and one sister, Jean Orr of Montana.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Elaine.
