Obituary for Betty Carol Rose
BETTY CAROL ROSE, 87, of Kewanee, IL, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Toulon Health Care Center in Toulon, IL.
Cremation rites have been accorded. The Bosma-Gibson Funeral Home in Prophetstown, IL assisted with arrangements. A livestreamed memorial service through Zoom is planned for Saturday, July 16, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. Interment at will be in Lyndon Township Cemetery.
Betty was born March 25, 1935 in Fenton, IL, to Clifford A. and Ruth E. (Bouvia) Olson. She was educated in the Rochelle, IL schools. On February 24, 1956 she married Clarence Jr. Rose in Rockford, IL. They were married for 62 years, until his passing on December 11, 2018. Betty enjoyed tending her home and raising her two children. She was a member of the Kewanee Christian Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Betty was an accomplished pianist and loved to play for the congregation to accompany singing songs to our glorious God Jehovah. She enjoyed the ministry and preaching the good news about God’s Kingdom to anyone that would listen. She was zealous in helping people come to an accurate knowledge of the Bible and dedicate their lives to Jehovah. She was known as a “Faithful Sister”, first in the Rock Falls, IL congregation, and then in the Kewanee congregation of Jehovah Witnesses. She loved playing cards with family and friends. Whenever the “Jitterbug” played, you would see Betty and Clarence on the dance floor, showing everyone how it was done.
Survivors include one son, David (Tammy) Rose of Peoria, IL and one daughter, Debra (Lee) Workheiser of Kewanee, IL; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence; three brothers, Harold, Richard and Paul.
