Obituary for Vicki L. Steward
VICKI L. STEWARD, 70, of Big Meadows Nursing Home in Savanna, IL, died Monday, April 18, at Big Meadows.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home, officiated by Mr. Ken Renkes. A memorial visitation precedes the service, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Fulton Township Cemetery. A memorial has been established to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Vicki was born June 1, 1951, in Clinton, IA to Bernard J. and Dorothy M. (Geerts) Engelkins. She was educated in the Fulton schools and was a 1969 graduate of Fulton High School. She then attended Clinton Community College. Vicki was employed in the accounting department at Mercy Hospital in Clinton. She later moved to Brandon, FL where she handled patient accounting for the University of South Florida Physicians Group for several years. Vicki enjoyed staying active by running, walking, golfing and gardening. She had run in the Bix 7 Road Race and biked in the RAGBRAI. She was also very active with AA, and was a sponsor for many years. Vicki was an avid Hawkeyes fan and also had a deep affection for her cats and enjoyed their companionship.
Survivors include two sons, Derek (Pam Westerman) Steward and Kurt (Kenna) Steward, both of Clinton, IA; two grandsons, Tristan and Gavin Steward; two brothers, Jerry (Diane) Engelkins of Morrison, IL and Steve (Alice) Engelkins of Savanna, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Ricky Engelkins.
