June was born June 19, 1927, in Bold Springs, TN, to Noah E. and Eunice E. (Lester) Tidwell. She was educated in the Bold Springs schools. June was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, sewing, music, dancing and reading. She delighted in nature, beautiful scenery and bird-watching. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of the former Evangelical Free Church in Clinton, IA, where she served as a Sunday school teacher. Her faith in God was very strong, and she spent a lot of time reading her Bible (before losing her sight) and praying for everyone. June was small in stature yet mighty and courageous in adversity. Her strength and determination got her through difficult times and no matter the circumstances she had a smile that would light up a room.

Survivors include one daughter, Misty (Mark) Fanderclai of Florida; one son, Rick (Cheryl) Stallings of Silvis, IL; nine grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Staggs of Centerville, TN.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands, Henry Stallings and Lester Matyas; one daughter, Theresa Holmes; one grandson, Michael Holmes; two sisters, Joyce Aresmann and Brenda Andersen; three brothers, Thomas, Noah Ezra, and Carl Tidwell.
