Obituary for Carol Lee Given
CAROL LEE GIVEN, 78, of Morrison, IL, passed away peacefully, at her home surrounded by her family, on Saturday, December 28, 2019.
A private family service and private family visitation will be held at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home with grandson-in-law Micah Gapinski officiating. Interment will be at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison. A memorial has been established by the family.
Carol was born May 31, 1941, in Gurnee, IL. She married Rex B. Given Sr. on November 29, 1956, in Morrison. He died October 8, 2012. Carol worked at General Electric in Morrison and at the Morrison Community Hospital. She owned and operated Store Room Antiques in Morrison. Carol was a member of the Morrison United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School and was a Stephens Minister. Carol alongside her husband helped with Cub Scouts. Carol was always visiting with people and loved spending time with her friends and family. She also enjoyed quilting and cross stitching.
Survivors include two daughters, Kathy Frederick and LeeAnn (Mark) Steele both of Morrison; one son, Rex (Bonnie) Given Jr. of Morrison; nine grandchildren, Erin (Micah) Gapinski, Emily Frederick, Megan (Adam) Huizenga, Abby (Tim) Mussmann, Jamie Given, Shanna Given, Andrea Given, Michael Given, and Jenelle Given; and eighteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rex Sr.; one son, Tony Given; and one granddaughter, Elizabeth Frederick.
