Obituary for Winnie Schaver
WINNIE SCHAVER, 88, of 201 W. Park St., Morrison, IL, died Thursday, August 28, 2008 at Four Seasons Living Center in Morrison, IL. Winnie was born on August 15, 1920 in Morrison, IL to Lambertus "Bert" and Effie (Hook) Meinema. She was educated in the Morrison Grade Schools. She married Henry Schaver on August 15, 1941 in Morrison, IL. He preceded her in death on March 8, 1999. Winnie was employed as a Certified Nurses Aid at the Morrison Community Hospital for 17 years. She also provided child care to many Morrison area families throughout the years. Winnie was a charter member of the Morrison Christian Reformed Church and a member of the church"s Ladies Aid Society. She enjoyed traveling, crocheting and reading. She was also an avid Cubs fan. Survivors include three daughters, Evelyn Smojver of Sun Prairie, WI, Theresa (Mark) Farrell of Morrison, IL, Glenda (Rick) Deter of Morrison, IL; three sons, Roger (Sharon) Schaver of South Milwaukee, WI, John Schaver of Novato, CA, Darrell (Maggie) Schaver of Springfield, IL; Eleven Grandchildren, Michael (Michelle) Smojver, Catherine Smojver, Brandon (Jessica) Farrell, Chad (Elizabeth) Farrell, Jayme Farrell, Marie, Brock and Aaron Deter, Tomas, Liam and Maire Schaver; Four Great Grandchildren, Will Ortiz, Aribella and Caelyn Farrell, Kyle Farrell. She was preceded in death by her husband; one sister, Jennie Temple; two brothers, David and Edward Meinema.
