Obituary for Winnie Pruis
WINNIE PRUIS, 85, of 206 S. Genesee Street, Morrison, IL, died Tuesday, January 3, 2006 at Four Seasons Living Center in Morrison, IL. Winnie was born April 12, 1920 in Fenton, IL to Martin and Kate (Buis) Tenboer. She was educated in the Morrison grade schools. She married Fred Pruis on August 14, 1940 in Morrison. He died August 18, 1990. Winnie was employed, along with her husband, as custodian for Emmanuel Reformed Church in Morrison. She was a member of the church, the church"s Mission Society, and had served as a Sunday School teacher. She enjoyed playing piano at various community locations and functions. Survivors include two daughters, Janice (Mrs. Allen) Brandt of Phoenix, AZ and Judy (Mrs. Aaron) Johnson of Morrison, IL; two sons, Rev. Al (Nancy) Pruis of Eagan, MN and Ed (Deb) Pruis of Morrison, IL; nine grandchildren, Shelly Brandt, Rod (Andrea) Brandt, Eric Brandt, Missy Denning, Marnie (Mrs. Shaun) McCrary, Joe Pruis, Lindsay Pruis, Jill Pruis, and Brad Pruis; four step grandchildren, Jeremiah (Shanelle) Johnson, Christi (Mrs. Justin) Grater, Matthew (Mary) Barta, and Amy Barta; nine great grandchildren, Katie, Victoria, Angelica, Jacob, and Lily Brandt; Courtney and Brandy McCrary; and Scott and Jessy Denning; six step great grandchildren, Lauren and Maddie Grater; Isaac, Spencer, Samuel and Asher Johnson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred; one grandchild in infancy; six sisters, Etta DeVries, Nellie DeVries, Stella Heun, Inez Hamstra, Jeanette Norman, and Josephine Dahm; five brothers, John, Claus, Henry, Martin, and Everett Tenboer.
