Obituary for Wilma G. Dykstra
WILMA G. DYKSTRA, 85, of Harbor Crest Nursing Home, Fulton, IL, died Wednesday, March 28, 2007 at the nursing home. Wilma was born December 24, 1921, in Fulton, IL, to Rankin and Rena (Klimstra) Buikema. She was educated in the Garden Plain, IL schools. She married Sebert J. Dykstra on September 18, 1940 in Fulton, IL. Wilma, along with her husband, owned and operated Sebert"s Sunoco. She was a homemaker and also had worked for the Garment Factory in Clinton, and as a custodian at Unity Grade School in Fulton. She was a member of Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Fulton. She belonged to the church"s Lydia Circle, the Mary and Martha Circle and also the Unity School Auxiliary. Memorials to Unity Christian School and Bethel Christian Reformed Church have been established. Survivors include her husband, Sebert; two daughters, Ruth A. (Mrs. Roger) Eshelman of Morrison, IL and Sandie Kay (Mrs. Russell) Bielema of Fulton, IL; one son, Donald S.(Sheila)Dykstra of Fulton, IL; nine grandchildren, Andrea (Mrs. Scott) Eggers, Liz Dykstra, Samantha Dykstra, Ben Eshelman, Sarah Hawk, Philip (Julie) Bielema, Jason (Christine) Bielema, David Bielema, and Amber Bielema; five great grandchildren, Breanna and Emily Eggers, Lara Bielema, Siara and Angelyca Hawk; one sister-in-law, Sylvia Buikema of Albany, IL. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Nellie Decker, Marie Vredeling, Esther Shipma; two brothers, Louis R. and David R. Buikema.
