Obituary for William W. Bill Van Buren Jr.
WILLIAM W. "BILL" VAN BUREN JR. 78, of Morrison, IL, died Tuesday, January 22, 2013, at CGH Medical Center in Sterling, IL. Bill was born January 1, 1935, in Moline, IL, to William W. and Lydia M. (McLaughlin) Van Buren. He was educated in the Moline grade schools and attended Moline High School. Bill served in the United Stated Marine Corps during the Korean War. He married Ann Porter on June 1, 1958 in Muscatine, IA. Bill retired in 1992, after 30 years of employment, from Dept. 29 at International Harvester " East Moline, IL. His passion in life was his family and home. He enjoyed going to his grandchildren"s school activities, and he loved to decorate his home for the holidays. He enjoyed gardening and going to flea markets and auctions. Bill"s infectious caring personality and sense of humor will truly be missed. Survivors include his wife Ann, of 54 years; one daughter, Christina "Tina" Schrader of Dixon, IL; one son, William W. "Bill" (Michele) Van Buren III of Morrison, IL; five grandchildren, Allyson, Erika, Autumn Van Buren; Andy (Natalie) Schrader and Jeremy Schrader, of Utah; two great grandchildren, Tucker Schrader and Maddox Campbell. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Ruby Van Buren.
