Obituary for William P. Witt
WILLIAM P. "BILL" WITT, 65, of 202 W. Morris Street, Morrison, IL, died Sunday, November 18, 2012, at his home. Bill was born December 6, 1946, in Clinton, IA, to Arthur and Marian (Butzbach) Witt. He was educated in the Irving Grade School, Washington Junior High School, and was a 1965 graduate of Clinton High School in Clinton, IA. Bill received an associate degree from Clinton Community College in Clinton, IA. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. Bill married Deborah K. Bush on June 5, 1982, in Morrison, IL. He was employed as a firefighter for the Clinton Fire Department in Clinton, IA. Most recently, he was employed as maintenance supervisor for LyondellBasell in Clinton, retiring in April 2007. Bill was a member of the Emmanuel Reformed Church in Morrison and served as a deacon. He served as a member of the Morrison School Board. He enjoyed bowling, coaching baseball and softball and attending his grandchildren"s school and sporting events. Survivors include his wife, Deb; two daughters, Shelly (Boone) Brackemyer and Susie Ottens both of Morrison, IL; two sons, Todd (Pamela) Witt of Charlotte, NC and Shane Witt of Chicago, IL; eight grandchildren, Jason and Dylon Smith, Joey and Ben Brackemyer, Britt and T.C. Ottens, Priscilla and Nolan Witt; one brother, Robert (Deb) Witt of Clinton, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son-in-law, Corey Ottens.
