WILLIAM “JUNIOR” JACOBS, 59, of Prophetstown, IL, died Thursday, July 4, 2024, at his home.
Cremation Rites have been accorded. A private family graveside service will be held, officiated by Nels Carlson. There will be a public memorial visitation held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at the Bosma-Gibson Funeral Home in Prophetstown. Interment is in Riverside Cemetery in Prophetstown. A memorial has been established to the Prophetstown Fire Department.
Junior was born June 27, 1965, at Fort Carson Army Hospital in Colorado Springs, CO, to William P. “Bill” and Claudia K. (McDonald) Jacobs, Sr. He was educated in the Prophetstown schools and was a graduate of Prophetstown High School. Junior was on the Prophetstown Fire Department from 1988 until retiring after 35 years. He also worked as a material handler at Mallard Mfg. in Sterling, IL. He was a former member of the Prophetstown United Methodist Church. Junior enjoyed bowling, hunting and fishing and spending time with his small group of beloved friends, who he was beyond thankful for. He attended many Ducks Unlimited and Turkey Federation banquets, and was almost always lucky enough to win a raffle prize.
Survivors include his father, Bill Jacobs of Prophetstown, IL; one sister, Jennifer (Jamie) Etheridge of Prophetstown, IL; one brother, Shawn (Dustin Wilson) Jacobs of Erie, IL; nieces and nephews, Shannon, Tylor, Evelyn, Charles, Olivia, Brady (Ashley), and Colleen (Zach); great nieces and nephews, Corwin, Emma, Harliegh, Temprance, Jaxson, Wyatt, Olivia Ann, Weston, Kye, Oakland and Lilly.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Claudia; a great nephew, Ryker Bryan; his maternal and paternal grandparents.
