Obituary for Willard M. Kraft
WILLARD M. KRAFT, 87, of Fulton, IL, died Monday, August 24, 2020, at MercyOne Clinton in Clinton, IA.
His funeral service will be 10:30 AM Monday, August 31, 2020, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Clinton, IA with The Reverend Britt Vickstrom, interim pastor, officiating. For everyone’s safety, it is asked that everyone wear a face covering. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 6:00 PM Sunday, August 30, 2020, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Interment will be at Fulton Township Cemetery in Fulton, IL. Memorials have been established to the American Heart Association and Schmaling Memorial Public Library in Fulton.
Willard was born October 12, 1932, in Fulton, IL, to Leo and Jenny (Vogel) Kraft. He was educated in the Fulton Grade Schools and was a 1951 graduate of Fulton High School. Willard married Marjorie A. McMurry on June 8, 1952, in Clinton, IA. She died January 27, 2011. He was employed by DuPont in Clinton, IA, for 40 years, retiring in 1993. Willard was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church ELCA in Clinton, IA. He enjoyed going to Fulton basketball and football games and the Clinton Lumber Kings games with his very good friend Pete Simpson. Willard also enjoyed college football and basketball games and was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan. He, along with his wife Marjorie, enjoyed traveling all throughout the United States and especially enjoyed their trips on cruise ships. Willard was also an avid reader.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Baker of Clinton, IA, and Ellen (Craig Smith) Shepler of Fulton, IL; one son, Kenneth (Laura) Kraft of Clinton, IA; one grandson; five granddaughters; eight great-grandsons; five great-granddaughters; two sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marjorie; one son, David Kraft; one sister, Margaret VonOven; five brothers, John, Richard, Raymond, Dean, and Paul L. Kraft; one son-in-law, Louis Shepler; one brother-in-law; and four sisters-in-law.
