Obituary for Wayne E. Longanecker
WAYNE E. LONGANECKER, 67, of 15840 Yorktown Road, Morrison, IL, died Friday, February 16, 2007 at Morrison Community Hospital, Morrison, IL. Wayne was born September 17, 1939 in Sterling, IL, to Floyd A. and Irma I. (Landheer) Longanecker. He was educated in the rural Whiteside County grade schools and was a 1957 graduate of Morrison High School. Wayne married Mary J. Doorenbos on December 19, 1958 in Morrison, IL. He farmed, along with his wife, in the rural Morrison area. He also had worked part time for Ebbers Builders and the Morrison Veterinary Clinic. Wayne was a member of Emmanuel Reformed Church. He was a 4-H leader for Mt. Pleasant Plow Jockeys for 20 years and had served many years on the Whiteside County Fair Board. He was a former member of the Whiteside County Mounted Patrol and was also involved with the Morrison Mustangers Saddle Club. Wayne was an avid bowler, participating in the Tuesday Night Church League, for many years. Survivors include his wife, Mary; his mother, Irma Longanecker of Morrison; one daughter, Marla (Mrs. Daniel) Tarpenning of Buckner, MO; two sons, Marshal (Karen) Longanecker and Michael Longanecker both of Morrison; two grandchildren, Charity (Mrs. Aaron) Johnson and James Tarpenning; two step grandchildren, Katie Hohlen and Kelcie Hohlen; one great grandchild, Lane Tarpenning. He was preceded in death by his father.
