Obituary for Viola May Van Vuren
The beautiful life of Viola May Van Vuren (nee Dykstra) came to a peaceful end on Sunday, May 1, 2011 at the glorious age of 87 at Rush Oak Park Hospital. A resident of River Forest, IL, Viola was known for her love and kindness toward animals as well as people. She enjoyed spending her free time baking and teaching her granddaughter, Mason, how to bake. Viola is survived by Robert, her devoted and loving husband of 68 wonderful years. Viola was born on September 4, 1923 in Newton Township, IL and was raised in rural Whiteside County, where she attended the Lockhart School. Viola and Robert met in their hometown of Fulton, IL and were married on January 23, 1943. Shortly thereafter, they moved to Hinsdale, IL, where they lived for over 40 years before moving to River Forest. Viola was employed for 20 years in the garment industry and 15 years at Cook Daycare Center. Viola was a member of First United Methodist Church of LaGrange, IL since the late 1940"s. She is survived by her husband Robert, River Forest, IL, her son, Robert A. Van Vuren, Bradenton, FL, son-in-law, Max Rose, River Forest, three granddaughters, Hannah (Robert) Kelly, Alyssa (David) Wetzel and Mason E. Rose and two great-grandsons, Carson and Jack Kelly. She was preceded in death by her parents, John K. and Jennie (Klimstra) Dykstra, two brothers, Jacob and William Dykstra and her daughter, Jennifer A. Rose.

VISITATION 12:30 P.M. until the time of the service on Thursday, May 5, 2011 at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Homes, 1500 10th Avenue, Fulton, IL. FUNERAL SERVICE: 2:30 P.M., Thursday, May 5, 2011 at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home.OFFICIATING: Rev. Thomas Harmon, Pastor of First United Methodist Church of LaGrange, ILINTERMENT Fulton Township Cemetery - Fulton, IL A memorial service to celebrate Viola"s beautiful life will be held on Sunday, May 15th at 3 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 100 W. Cossitt Ave., LaGrange, IL.
