Obituary for Suzanne Wylder
SUZANNE C. WYLDER, 86, of Resthave Nursing Home, Morrison, IL, died Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at the nursing home. Suzanne was born May 20 1920, to Alfred W. and Katherine (Briggs) Collins. She was educated in the Morrison grade schools and graduated from Morrison High School. She attended MacMurray College in Jacksonville, IL and also Francis Shimer College in Mt. Carroll, IL. She received her teaching degree from Northern IL Teacher"s College in DeKalb, IL. She taught for one year at Crouch School, a one-room schoolhouse northwest of Morrison. She married Jack D. Wylder on June 14, 1941. Following her marriage, Suzanne lived in many locations while her husband served in the Air Force. They lived in Peoria while he attended Bradley University, and finally settled in Morrison where she was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Morrison, where she sang in the choir. She was a member of the P.E.O. and active in many community affairs. Survivors include one daughter, Linda (Mrs. Terry) Jones of Morrison, IL; two sons, Mark (Beverly Samuda) Wylder of Davenport, IA and Jeff (Linda) Wylder of Naperville, IL; seven grandchildren, Suzy (Mrs. Darrell) Kuehl, Polly (Mrs. Dale) Vos, Megan Wylder, Andrew Wylder, Nathan (Glenda) Wylder, Gabriel Wylder, Barbara (Mrs. Robert) Ferry; ten great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Collins.
