Obituary for Steven R. Bush
STEVEN R. BUSH, 65, of Morrison, IL, died Monday, September 27, 2010 at Genesis Medical Center East in Davenport, IA. Steve fought courageously for many years with diabetes and its complications. Steve was born August 31, 1945, in Morrison, IL, to Donald E. and Kathryn R. Bush. He was educated in the Hiddleson Grade School and graduated from Morrison High School in 1964. He attended Central College in Pella, IA and also the University of WI Platteville. He married Ann M. Dykema on August 17, 1968 in Morrison. Steve was a nationally certified journeyman tool and die mold maker. He had worked as a tool and die maker at Drives, Inc. in Fulton, IL; General Electric Co. in Morrison; John Deere Davenport Works in Davenport, IA; Wahl Clipper Inc. in Sterling, IL. Steve enjoyed helping friends and family with their farming. He was a transplant recipient as was able to repay his gift at his death by being a cornea donor. Steve was a formerly a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church where he served as elder, deacon, Sunday school superintendent and Sunday school teacher for many years. Steve is a current member of Emmanuel Reformed Church in Morrison. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing cards. He enjoyed spending time with his family and had a deep passion for farming. Survivors include his wife, Ann; one daughter, Stefanie Glasgow of Davenport, IA; three sons: Abe Bush of Clearwater, FL, Joshua (Lisa) Bush of Morrison, IL and Lucas Bush of Portland, OR; four grandchildren, John Glasgow IV and Liam Glasgow; Brandon and Jordan Bush; one sister, Virginia (Terry) Carroll of Galena, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Larry D. Bush.
