STEVEN JOHN TEMPLE, 73, of Fulton, IL, passed way at his home with his family by his side on Friday, August 11, 2023.
His funeral service will be held at 6:00 PM on Friday, August 18, 2023, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home with David Mercer officiating. A visitation will precede the service starting at 3:00 PM until the time of the funeral. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services. A memorial has been established to the Fulton High School Bass Fishing Team.
Steve was born April 4, 1950, in Clinton, IA, to Joseph and Johanna (Schaver) Temple. He attended Fulton Unity Christian School and was a 1968 graduate of Fulton High School. Steve married Kim Redell on July 30, 1985, in Morrison, IL. He worked as a utility operator at 3M in Cordova for 43 years until retiring. Steve’s joys in life were fishing, ice fishing and riding his Harley. He lived for music and absolutely loved the Slick Willy Radio Show. He also enjoyed going to the drag strip in Cordova. Steve cherished the time he spent with his family, including his father-in-law, who he fondly referred to as “Pops” and every Sunday after church, he would go to his parents’ house for dinner.
Survivors include his wife, Kim of Fulton, IL; two daughters, Danyale (Jesse) Tamminga of Everson, WA and Tosha (Chris) Matthiesen of Clinton, IA; one son, Randy (Stephanie) Temple of Dewitt, IA; ten grandchildren, Hans, Merry, Peter, Mac and Faye Tamminga, Ethan, Presleigh and Kennedi Matthiesen, Samantha and Lucas Hledik; his beloved cat, Chunk.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Ronnie Temple.
Steve’s family would like to extend a special thank you to everyone for all their support and kindness, especially to his sister-in-law, Beverly Bond and his niece, Brooke Redell.
