Obituary for Stanley E. Moews
STANLEY E. MOEWS, 81, of 308 S. Jackson Street, Morrison, IL, died Thursday, September 27, 2007 at Resthave Nursing Home, Morrison, IL. Stan was born August 29, 1926 in Prophetstown, IL, to Frank A. and Anna E. (Pletsch) Moews. He was educated in the Prairie View Schools of rural Whiteside County and was a graduate of Prophetstown High School. He graduated from DeForest Radio & TV Service in 1952 and from a G.E. Engineering Training program. Stan was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII. He married Una M. Seyller on April 18, 1951 in Henry County, IL. He later married Marjorie H. (Young) McDougall on August 1, 1969 in Morrison, IL. He was employed as an application specialist at General Electric in Morrison, retiring in 1989 after 33 years of employment. He was a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church in Morrison, a member of Prophetstown Lodge #293 of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of IL, and a member of SPEBSQBA. Survivors include his wife, Marjorie; three daughters, Rhonda (Mrs. Ron) Hulteen of Sterling, IL, Jacqueline Davis of Fairfield, IA, and Margo (Mrs. David) Fairbanks of Gladstone, MI; three stepdaughters, Andrea (Mrs. Tom) Dalton, Adele (Mrs. Ron) Nye, and Alicia (Mrs. Dean) Burkholder all of Morrison, IL; sixteen grandchildren, Brad & Jay Nye, Dara Smith, Travis, Justin, & Ryan Fairbanks, David, Patrick, William, & Julia Davis, Laura & Matthew Hulteen, Anne & Ashley Burkholder, Jeff Dalton & Jennifer Chambers; eight great grandchildren, Amanda & Hillary Dalton, Dalton & Allyson Gray, Tyler & Esra Nye, Bailey Smith, and Shawna Simpson. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Edward, Howard, and Frank Moews.
