Obituary for Shirley M. Tusing
SHIRLEY MARIE TUSING, 84, of 206 Lime Street, Albany, IL, died Thursday, February 1, 2007, at Mercy Medical Center North, Clinton, IA. Shirley was born December 2, 1922 in LeClaire, IA to William and Nellie (Twesel) Shannon. She was educated in Rock Island, IL schools. Shirley married Harry Glenn Bitler on June 5, 1942 in Rock Island. He died November 5, 1955. She later married Warren Tusing on January 17, 1957 in Fulton. He died April 2, 1988. She worked in the family business, the Tusing Service Station, for 30 years. She was a member of Albany United Methodist Church. She liked water painting, was an avid cook, and loved the outdoors. Survivors include three daughters, Kimberly Peppers of St. Louis, MO; Lori (Mrs. Curtis) Lisius and Deborah (Mrs. Robert) Schroeder both of Albany; one son, Ron Bitler of Albany; seven grandchildren, Brooke and Brittany Peppers, Kelsey Lisius, Amanda Deppe, Nathan (Melissa) Schroeder, Becky (Mrs. Marty) Gilday, Amy (Mrs. Josh) Mitchell; five great grandchildren, Kourtney Deppe, Alexis and Celina Gilday, Ali and Jack Allan Mitchell; one sister, Mrs. Dorothy Bowen of Florida; two brothers, Wayne Shannon of Florida and Bob (Stella) Shannon of Michigan. She was preceded in death by her husbands; one granddaughter, Ashley Lisius; two sisters, Harriet Howard and Maressa Mason.
