Obituary for Shirley L. Maes
SHIRLEY L. MAES, 70, of Prophetstown, IL, died Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at her home in Prophetstown, IL. Shirley was born March 31, 1942, in Monroe, NE, to Everett and Mabel (Warnke) Church. She was educated in the Prophetstown Grade School. On April 15, 1959 she married Robert E. Maes in Prophetstown. He died April 29, 2011. Shirley was a homemaker and cleaned homes for several families in the Prophetstown area. She was a member of the Advent Christian Church in Prophetstown, IL. Survivors include two daughters, Cindy Maes of Prophetstown, IL and Connie (Martin) Stern of Lyndon, IL; two grandchildren, Nicholas (Erin) Stern and Jennifer (Ryan Mose) Stern, both of Erie, IL; one sister, Betty (Ronnie) Thomas of Davenport, IA; one brother, Jim Church of Lyndon, IL; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; two sisters, Judy Heintz and Glenda Church; seven brothers, Richard, Larry William, Kenneth, Bobby, Danny & Everett Jr. Church.
