Obituary for Seigina Borgman
SEIGINA BORGMAN, 89, of Big Bear City, CA, formerly of Fulton, IL, died Monday, April 6, 2009 at Erwin Lake Elderly Care in Big Bear City. Seigina was born November 6, 1919, in Zoutkamp, Netherlands, to Peter and Jacomina (VanDyk) Frik. She married Bernard Borgman on June 18, 1943, in Groningen, Netherlands, during World War II and Germany"s occupation of Holland. He preceded her in death on February 8, 1999. Seigina immigrated to the United States in 1950 and settled in Fulton, where she was a homemaker. She was a charter member of Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Fulton, and the church"s Lydia Society. She was an active volunteer for the community and her church. Her love of reading was well known by the local library as well as her ability to knit, crochet, sew and quilt. She will be remembered by her children as a good Christian woman. Survivors include four daughters, Mieka Thimsen of Big Bear Lake, CA, Minna Brewster of Portland, ME, Jeanette (Rod) Jarmin of Paso Robles, CA, and Sylvia Borgman of Salinas, CA; one son, Richard (Cathy) Borgman of Jupiter, CA; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter.
