Obituary for Ruth Ann Long
RUTH ANN LONG, 78, of Clinton, IA, formerly of Fulton and New Boston, IL, died Friday November 3, 2023, at Eagle Point Nursing Home in Clinton.
Her memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Fulton, IL, with Rev. Michael Hooker, pastor of First Christian Reformed Church, officiating. A memorial visitation will be held immediately following the service from 1:30 to 2:30 PM at Bethel Christian Reformed Church. Cremation rites were accorded. The Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Ruth was born October 14, 1945, in Moline, IL, to Bernard S. and Velma L. (Lawrence) Alexander. She was educated in the East Moline and Silvis grade schools and was a graduate of Rock Island High School. She married Joesph L. Long, Jr. on November 10, 1967, in New Boston, IL. He died January 10, 2015. Ruth was a dedicated homemaker. She was a member of the Fulton Assembly of God Church. Ruth was also a member of the Red Hats in Fulton, IL. She was an avid cat lover.
Survivors include one daughter, Elizabeth Pearl Long of Fulton, IL; one son, Joseph L. Long, III of Sterling, IL; one sister-in-law, Debbie Alexander of Moline, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph; two brothers, Marvin and Harrison Alexander.
