Obituary for Russell W. Kiger
RUSSELL W. KIGER, 83, of Fulton, IL, died Wednesday, July 13, 2016, at Mercy Living Center North, Clinton, IA. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, July 16, 2016 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fulton with Rev. Father Matthew Camaioni and Rev. Father James Keenan co-officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Friday, July 15, 2016 at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Interment will be at Fulton Township Cemetery in Fulton, IL. Russ was born February 26, 1933, in Veedersburg, IN, to William and Margaret (Kolaiser) Kiger. He was educated in the Veedersburg Grade Schools and was a graduate of Veedersburg High School. Russ married Martha A. Abbott on June 15, 1957, in Fulton, IL. He was first employed by C & D Batteries in Attica, IN. After moving to Fulton, he was employed by Drives, Inc. and most recently by the former Chicago and Northwestern Railroad for 33 years. He also was a part time police officer for the Fulton Police Department. Russ was a member of the Fulton Lions Club and the Loyal Order of Moose " Clinton, IA, Lodge #363. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and gardening. Survivors include his wife, Martha; five daughters, Mary Kiger of Clinton, IA; Valerie Kiger of Fulton, IL; Margaret "Peg" Renkes of Fulton, IL; Nancy Brown of Clinton, IA; and Lynn (David) Kiger-Kuster of DeWitt, IA; two sons, Kevin and Lee Kiger both of Fulton, IL; nine grandchildren, Justin (Ashley) Kiger, Jared Balk, Lindsey Renkes, Regan (Andres) Vernazza, Katelin (Brian) Killian, Aaron Brown, Makayla (Cody) Allison, Shawn Kiger, and Abbigayle Kuster; three great-grandchildren, Knox Kiger, Brayden Frazen, and Delayne Killian; and one sister, Doyne Ludlow of Veedersburg, IN and a Special Friend Pastor Woodie Ladnier. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son-in-law, Kent Renkes.
