Obituary for Rosa V. Ruiz
ROSA V. RUIZ, 89, of Clinton, IA, formerly of Fulton, IL, died Wednesday, November 29, 2017, at Mercy Medical Center North, Clinton, IA.Rosa was born August 30, 1928, in Ft. Stockton, TX, to Ernesto and Margarita (Ornelas) Velasquez. She was a graduate of the Ft. Stockton High School. Rosa married Richard C. Ruiz on June 2, 1946, in Ft. Stockton, TX. He died December 7, 2004. Rosa was employed as head cook for 22 years at the Dos Amigos Restaurant in Odessa, TX. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fulton, IL. Rosa enjoyed quilting, crocheting and spending time with her family and friends.Survivors include four daughters, Marge (Ron) Hook of Fulton, IL; Rosie (Kerry) Wilkerson of Mesa, AZ; Yolanda (Dan) Schlitter of Dubuque, IA; and Norma (Jeff) Brimley of Alamo, TX; two sons, Ricardo (Odilla) Ruiz of Martinez, GA and Henry Ruiz of Clinton, IA; thirteen grandchildren; five step grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; two great-great- grandchildren; and one brother, Matias Velasquez of Ft. Stockton, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard; three sons, Anthony, Tony, and Raul Ruiz; one grandson, Michael Ruiz; two sisters, Sylvia Gonzales and Esther Gonzales; and two brothers, Ernesto and Augustine Velasquez.
