Obituary for Ronald F. La Shelle
RONALD F. LA SHELLE, 72, of Albany, IL, died Friday, July 15, 2016, at his home in Albany. Ron was born April 3, 1944, in Savanna, IL, to Floyd and Frances (Potter) La Shelle. He was educated in Fulton, IL and was a graduate of Fulton High School in 1962. Ron married Mary A. Ashpole on July 31, 1965, in Fulton. He was employed with Drives, Inc. from 1962 until he retired in 2004. After he retired from Drives, he worked parttime for Clinton Feed and Grain in Clinton, IA and for Gold Star FS, Inc. in Erie, IL. He also volunteered countless hours at the Sawmill Museum in Clinton. He enjoyed woodworking, being outside, and especially spending time with his grandchildren. There wasn"t anything that he wasn"t able to fix. Survivors include his wife, Mary; two daughters, Julie (Philippe) Mure-Ravaud of Fulton, IL and Amy (Daniel) Portz of Albany, IL; eight grandchildren, Alyssia Portz, Sebastien Mure-Ravaud, Paige Portz, Pierre Mure-Ravaud, Gabby Portz, Adelie Mure-Ravaud, Nate Portz, and Aaron Portz; one great-granddaughter, Aaleeyah Glass; one brother, Gary (Mary) La Shelle of Washington; one sister, Sandy Shadle of Princeton, IL; one sister-in-law, Myona McKenna of Albany; and one brother-in-law, Larry (Barb) Ashpole of Rock Island, IL and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers-in-law, Jeff Shadle and Dale McKenna.
