Obituary for Roger L. Haan
ROGER L. HAAN, 76 of Morrison, IL, died Friday, October 7, 2016, at Morrison Community Hospital in Morrison, IL.Roger was born July 19, 1940, in Morrison, IL, to John and Esther E. (Shipma) Haan. He was educated in the Prairie Center Grade School of rural Whiteside County and attended Morrison High School. Roger served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He married Jane DeVries on May 6, 1967 in Morrison, IL. Roger was a self-employed contractor and owned and operated Roger Haan Construction Company. He was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison and served as a deacon. Roger was a member and past commander of both the Morrison VFW Post #8281 and Morrison American Legion Post #328. He was a member of the Morrison Fire Department for 11 years and a member of Morrison Dunlap Lodge #321 AF AM. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, drag racing, and attending his grandchildrens events.Survivors include his wife, Jane; one daughter, Michelle Missy (Scott) Mouw of Morrison, IL; one son, John (Gabriella Cason) Haan of Morrison, IL; seven grandchildren, Doug (Aimee) Mouw, Devin Mouw, Morgan Mouw, Danny Mouw, Tyler and Lucas Haan, and Laila Cason; one great-grandson, Kanaan Mouw; one sister, LaVonne (Ken) Huizenga of Morrison, IL; two brothers, Paul (Mae) Haan of Lansing, MI and Craig (Vickie) Haan of Morrison, IL; one sister-in-law, Sophia Haan of North Aurora, IL.He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Douglas and Harvey Haan.
