Obituary for Roger J. Simon
ROGER J. SIMON, 69, of 1630 " 468th Avenue, Clinton, IA, died Thursday, August 30, 2007 at Mercy Medical Center North in Clinton, IA. Roger was born January 2, 1938, in Clinton, IA, to Robert and Helen (Hansen) Simon. He was educated in the Clinton grade schools and attended Clinton High School. He served in the United States Navy from 1956 " 1958. Roger married Bonnie Balk on April 14, 1973 in Clinton, IA. He was employed as a meat cutter for many years, and then, along with his wife, he owned and operated Simon"s Jack and Jill Grocery Store in Clinton. Later he went to work for Clinton Corn Processing, which became ADM. He was a past member of Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever and IKES of Clinton County. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking. Survivors include two daughters, Tamie (Mrs. Leroy) Jones of Chadwick, IL and Mindy K. Holesinger of Fulton, IL; three grandsons, Tyler and Dylan Jones and Clayton Holesinger; one sister, Harriet Smith of FL; three brothers, Ronald Simon and Harry Fuller, both of AZ; Raymond Simon of Manchester, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Robert and Richard Simon.
