Obituary for Roelvina Zuidema
ROELVINA KATHERINE ZUIDEMA, 92, of Prophets Riverview Good Samaritan Center in Prophetstown, Illinois died Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at the Good Samaritan Center.Roelvina was born on November 8, 1915 in Morrison, Illinois to Louis and Reake (Brackemeyer) Shipma. She attended Morrison grade schools and graduated from Morrison High School in 1933. She married Harold Zuidema on September 12, 1935 in Morrison, Illinois. He died April 11, 1995. Roelvina and Harold farmed in the Morrison area for 46 years until their retirement. Roelvina was a life-long member of Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison, IL where she was active in the Lydian Society. She was also a 4-H leader and she enjoyed sewing and cooking. Survivors include one daughter, Jane (Mrs. Arnold) Brooks of Prophetstown, IL; one son, Allen (Carol) Zuidema of Argyle, WI; seven grandchildren, Joy (David) Lee, Kristy (Jeffrey) Zwicker, Kathy (Todd) Wirtz, William (Lynn) Zuidema, Elizabeth (Clint) Lechner, Deborah (Chris) Bostak, Jeff (Mechelle) Brooks; thirteen great grandchildren, Corey Lee, Daniel Lee, Matthew (Meghan) McKenna, Kyle Zwicker, Katie Zwicker, Melissa (James Bridges) Wirtz, Michelle Wirtz, TJ Wirtz, Mitchell Zuidema, Sam Bostak, Max Bostak, Emily Brooks, Ella Brooks; two great great grandchildren, Alexis Bridges, Caleb McKenna. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold.
