Obituary for Robert A. James
ROBERT A. JAMES, 81, of 17591 Lyndon Road, Morrison, IL, died Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at his home. Bob was born November 30, 1931, in Sterling, IL, to Arthur A. and Hazel (McCune) James. He was educated in the James School of rural Whiteside County and was a 1949 graduate of Morrison High School in Morrison, IL. Bob served in the U.S. Navy Air during the Korean War. He married Ruby C. Knox on November 16, 1956, in Morrison, IL. Bob was engaged in farming in the rural Morrison area his entire life. He was a lifetime member of the Morrison American Legion Post #328 and Morrison VFW Post #8281. He was also member and past president of the Snowbirds Snowmobile Club and member and past president of the Heaton Cemetery Association. Bob was also a member of the Clystic School Board. He enjoyed antique tractors and attending tractor pulls. Survivors include his wife, Ruby; two daughters, Bobbie James and Julie James both of Morrison; one son, Michael (Lisa) James of Morrison; two grandchildren, Triston and Quinn James; two sisters, Pat Wagenecht and Ardythe Rice both of Morrison. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Carmen Dykema.
