Obituary for Rita K. Haan
RITA K. HAAN, 72, of Chadwick, IL, died Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at CGH Medical Center in Sterling, IL.
Funeral services for both Rita and her husband Richard will be held at 11:30 AM Monday, January 17, 2022 at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Dalmus Meeks. A visitation will be held from 2:00 – 5:00 PM Sunday, January 16th at the funeral home. Interment will be in Garden Plain Cemetery, in Fulton, IL. A memorial has been established.
Rita was born October 30, 1949 in Sterling, IL to Wayne and Frances (Marsh) Dersham. She was educated in the Fenton, IL grade schools and was a graduate of Erie High School in Erie, IL. After high school she graduated from beautician school and became a licensed cosmetologist. On October 3, 1992 she married Richard Arlyn Haan in Fulton, IL. He passed away on January 9, 2022. Rita worked as a hair dresser from her home salon. She enjoyed raising lambs, ducks and chickens with her husband. She was an ordained minister and lay speaker for the Fenton Church. Together they enjoyed seven years of ball room and tap dancing, camping and sing duets.
Survivors include her two daughters, Tanya (Karl) Drezek of LeClaire, IA and Heather (Michael) Koppien of Sterling, IL; one son, Eric (Shawn) Geesey of Birchwood, TN; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; her mother, Frances Dersham of Fenton, IL; two sisters, Sandra (Paul) Manon of Fenton, IL and Karen (Russ) Wiersema of Morrison, IL.
She was preceded in death by her father, Wayne; her husband, Richard; one brother, Arthur Eugene “Gene” Dersham.
