Obituary for Richard N. Larson
RICHARD N. LARSON, 93, of Resthave Home, Morrison, IL, died Thursday, July 3, 2014, at the Home. Richard was born June 23, 1921, in Fairmont, MN, to Carl and Anna (Barth) Larson. He was educated in the Buffalo Center, IA grade schools and was a graduate of Buffalo Center High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Richard married Vivian D. Dearing on February 11, 1944, in Waynesville, MO. She died August 16, 2003. Richard was employed by General Electric Company in Morrison, IL, for 31 years, retiring in 1971. He was a member of the Morrison American Legion Post #328. Richard enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed playing basketball, playing on two teams while serving in the Army, and also playing for GE in the GEAA League. Richard enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Survivors include one daughter, Donna (Richard) Cady of Morrison, IL; three grandchildren, David (Vinnie) Cady; Katrina (Sam) Thompson; and Rene (Jim) Plona; four great-grandchildren, Addison Simons, Trenton Plona, Carson Plona, and Charlotte Plona. He was preceded in death by his wife; Vivian; his parents; one sister, Nellie L. Reynolds; two brothers, Everett and Alvin Larson
