Obituary for Richard L. Huizenga
RICHARD L. “RICK” HUIZENGA, 74, of Fulton, IL, died Monday, November 20, 2023, at Resthave Home in Morrison, IL.
His funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 27, 2023, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home with Rev. John Byker, retired pastor, officiating. A visitation will precede the service starting at 10:00am until the time of the funeral. Interment will be at Fulton Township Cemetery in Fulton, IL. A memorial has been established to the Disabled American Veterans.
Rick was born April 8, 1949, in Morrison, IL, to Donald and Loretta (Noordt) Huizenga. He attended Garden Plain grade school and was a graduate of Fulton High School. Rick served in the United States Army from 1969-1971, as a sergeant in the infantry. He married Christine Brondyke on November 20, 1982, in Fulton, IL. Rick was a skilled self-employed carpenter. He was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church in Fulton. He enjoyed the great outdoors, whether he was hunting, fishing or tending to his garden.
Survivors include his wife, Chris; three sons, Aaron Huizenga of Thomson, IL, Anthony (Shannon) Huizenga and Donald Huizenga both of Fulton, IL; three grandchildren, Abby, Brooke and Quentin Huizenga; one sister, Viola (Leonard) Sikkema of Fulton, IL; two brothers, Larry (Sheryl) Huizenga of Fulton, IL and Doug (Angie) Huizenga of Alpena, MI.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
