Obituary for Richard E. Wirth
RICHARD E. WIRTH, 86, of 803 Jackson Street, Prophetstown, IL, died Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at Prophets Riverview Good Samaritan Center, Prophetstown, IL. Richard was born August 16, 1922 in Prophetstown, IL to Lawrence and Martha (Earl) Wirth. He was educated in Prophetstown schools. Richard married Elsie Bauwens on May 13, 1944 in Geneseo, IL. She died August 25, 1976. He later married Genevieve (Meier) Wirth on September 17, 1977 in Hooppole, IL. Richard was engaged in farming in the rural Prophetstown area his entire life, retiring in 1985. He was a former member of St. Mary"s Catholic Church in Hooppole and was a current member of St. Catherine Catholic Church in Prophetstown. He enjoyed dancing, bowling, playing cards, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Genevieve; one daughter, Connie (John) Fisk of Las Vegas, NV; two stepdaughters, Rhonda (Brian) Stahl of Geneseo, IL and Rita (Floyd) Toppert of Prophetstown; four grandchildren; seven step grandchildren; four great grandchildren; nine step great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Mae Teerlinck of Annawan, IL. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elsie; one son, Roger Wirth; and one stepson, Robert Wirth.
