Obituary for Rex B. Given Sr.
REX B. GIVEN, SR., 72, of 15739 Hazel Road, Morrison, IL, died Monday, October 8, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center North, Clinton, IA. Rex was born March 2, 1940 in Morrison, IL, to Brooks E. and Rose L. (Shepard) Given. He was educated in the Morrison Grade School and attended Morrison High School. Rex married Carol L. Hagerty on November 29, 1956 in Morrison. He was employed by General Electric in Morrison for over 30 years. Rex was a member of Morrison United Methodist Church and served as a Stephen Minister. He was also a former member of Morrison Lions Club. Rex enjoyed fishing, hunting, antiquing, woodworking, and his "animals". Survivors include his wife, Carol; two daughters, Kathy Frederick and LeeAnn (Mark) Steele both of Morrison, IL; one son, Rex B. (Bonnie) Given, Jr. of Morrison, IL; nine grandchildren, Erin (Micah) Gapinski, Emily Frederick, Megan (Adam) Huizenga, Abby (Tim) Mussmann, Jamie Given, Shanna Given, Andrea (Jordan) Fehrenbacher, Michael Given and Jenelle Given; and thirteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Tony Given; one granddaughter, Elizabeth Frederick; and one brother, Ronnie Given.
