Obituary for Rev. Paul R. Olson
REV. PAUL R. OLSON, 91, of East Peoria, IL, formerly of Prophetstown and Ottawa, IL, died Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at his home. Paul was born February 5, 1924, in Chicago, IL, to Gordon and Anna M. (Chalbeck) Olson. He was a 1941 graduate of Hyde Park High School in Chicago, Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, IL and Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, IL. He married Joyce K. Weaver on August 2, 1953 in Sterling, IL. She died April 2, 2005. Paul pastored various churches in the Northern Illinois Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. Survivors include four sons, David (Wendy) Olson of Yorba Linda, CA, John Olson of East Peoria, IL, Mark (Ellen) Olson of Roscoe, IL and Stephen (LeAnne) Olson of Rockton, IL; four grandchildren, Sandra Olson, Matthew Olson, Andrew Olson and Samantha Olson; one sister, Miriam Campbell of Cedar Rapids, IA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce; one brother, Wendell Olson.
