Obituary for Retta M. Temple
RETTA M. TEMPLE, 72, of Albany, IL, died Monday, June 4, 2007, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, IA. Retta was born February 10, 1935 in Fulton, IL, to William and Kate (Wiebenga) Maring. She was educated in the Fulton grade schools and was a 1952 graduate of Fulton High School. She attended Blackhawk College in Moline, IL. Retta married Allen D. Temple on October 16, 1952 in Morrison, IL. She owned and operated Hairmart and also the Side Door Antiques/Village Greenery both in Albany. She later was employed by Tri-County Social Services as an outreach worker. She was a member of Albany United Methodist Church. She enjoyed antiquing and attending the sporting activities of her grandchildren. Survivors include one daughter, Julie (Mrs. David) Millsap of Mt. Carroll, IL; three sons, William (Cathy) Temple of Erie, IL; Charles (Mona) Temple of Rapid City, IL; and Andrew Temple of Erie, IL; nine grandchildren, Craig Millsap, Scott and Mark Temple; Sara (Mrs. Joshua) Downs; Eric and Melissa Temple; Jerry, Mathew, and Marty Temple; one stepsister, Mrs. Ella Davis of Rock Island, IL; one stepbrother, Stanley (Gaye) Bush of Corpus Christi, TX. She was preceded in death by one grandson, Michael Millsap; four brothers, John, Clyde, William, and Leonard Maring; and one stepbrother, Gerald Bush.
