Obituary for Raymond S. Borgman
RAYMOND S. BORGMAN, 68, of Fulton, IL, died Friday, July 1, 2016, at Mercy Medical Center North in Clinton, IA. Ray was born September 17, 1947, in Groningen, Netherlands to Jakob and Lena (VanderHeide) Borgman. He was educated in the Fulton Christian Grade School and was a 1965 graduate of Fulton High School. He received an Associate degree from Clinton Community College in Clinton, IA. Ray served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He married Sherrie M. Rumfelt on November 4, 1972, in Fulton, IL. Ray was employed for 37 years at 3M in Cordova, IL, retiring in 2007. He was a member of Gateway Faith Fellowship in Fulton, the Fulton American Legion Post #402, Fulton Kiwanis Club, and was a Meals on Wheels and Big Brother/Big Sister volunteer. He was a volunteer coach for various youth sports. Ray was an avid Cubs, Blackhawks, Bears, and Illini fan and enjoyed crossword and sudoku puzzles. He was a devoted husband and loved his children, grandchildren, and especially his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Survivors include his wife, Sherrie; one daughter, Dawna (Tony) Kurtz of Fulton, IL; three sons, Jakob (Gina) Borgman of Roselle, IL; Ray (Brianne) Borgman, Jr. of Montgomery, IL; and Ryne (Jennifer) Borgman of Clinton, IA; eight grandchildren, Lucy and Micah Kurtz; Ashley and Caitlyn Borgman; Jonathan and William Borgman; Aundrea and Steven Borgman. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Richard "Rick" Borgman.
