Obituary for Raymond E. Shorty Carpenter
RAYMOND E. "SHORTY" CARPENTER, 49, of 900 15th Avenue, Fulton, IL, died Monday, July 21, 2008 at his home. Shorty was born August 29, 1958, in Moline, IL, to Robert Lee and Carolyn (Dumbauld) Carpenter. He was employed as a millwright for PMI Construction of Cedar Rapids, IA for three years. He was then employed by Drives LLC in Fulton for 17 years. He was a member of WHO ELSE INC. of Nelson, IL, were he enjoyed camping and the spending time with friends and family. Survivors include his life partner, DeVon Maresh; two daughters, Amanda (R.J. Jensen) Carpenter of Englewood, FL and Samantha Carpenter of Fulton; two sons, Raymond S. Carpenter of Camanche, IA and Trevor Carpenter of Fulton; three grandchildren, Sky, Bobbie and Amie Douglas; one half sister, Bobbie Carpenter of DeWitt, IA; father, Robert (Lorraine) Carpenter of Bettendort, IA; mother, Carolyn (Chesley) Johansen of Davenport, IA; mother-in-law, Carol (Dave) Phelps of Cedar Rapids, IA; father-in-law, Larry (Sandy Woodward) Maresh of Swisher, IA; four sisters-in-law, Dawn (Dean) Richmond of Fairfax, IA, Denise (Landon Duros) Wiedemeier of Cedar Rapids, IA, Darnelle Maresh of Fulton, IL and Dana (Jason Kenney) Maresh of Madison WI; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, William L. Carpenter; his grandparents.
