Obituary for Ray A. Corbell
Ray Allen Corbell, 72, of formerly of Morrison, IL, passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at Allure in Prophetstown, IL. Cremation rites will be accorded; there will be no funeral services. The Morrison Chapel of the Bosma- Renkes Funeral Home is assisting in arrangements. A memorial has been established by the family.
Ray was born on June 11, 1950, to Allen and Doris (Lyons) Corbell in Marysville, CA. He was educated in the Las Vegas, NV schools. Ray had marriages to Judy Ballard in Colorado and Gaylynn Spoor in California; both ended in divorce. On August 21, 1993 Ray married Sally J. (Green) Fredricks in Sterling, IL. She died January 23, 2014. Ray worked as an eye glasses technician in an optometrist office for many years. He was a citizen of Potawatomi Nation. He enjoyed being outdoors, especially camping, hunting, and fishing.
He is survived by one daughter, April (Danny) Thompson of Lexington, NC; one son, Jason (April) Corbell of Marion, Georgia; six grandchildren, Wyatt Whitley, Jarrett Whitley and Abbi Thompson; Jessie, Jordan, and Jackson Corbell; one sister, Shyron Corbell–Brown of Colorado; and one half sister, Dorothy Scoto.
He is predeceased by his parents and his wife, Sally.
