Obituary for Rachel Wiersema
RACHEL WIERSEMA, 96, of Resthave Nursing Home, Morrison, IL, died Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at the nursing home. Rachel was born May 28, 1913 in Artemas, Kentucky to Alex and Rhoda (Davis) Carroll. She was educated in the rural Kentucky grade schools. Rachel married Joseph R. Wiersema on January 15, 1944 in Morrison, IL. He died January 22, 1990. Rachel was a homemaker and lived in Morrison, since her marriage. Previously, Rachel was a member of the former Bible Baptist Church of Morrison, and more recently, a member of the Morrison Christian Church. Survivors include two sisters-in-law, Katherine Carroll of Elizabeth, IL and Eleanor Voss of Morrison, IL; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; three sisters, Ora Carroll, Mossie Flanders, and in infancy, Mary Carroll; four brothers, Martin, Bill, Dan, and Neal Carroll.
