Obituary for Phyllis J. Larson
PHYLLIS J. LARSON, 84, of Sterling Pavilion in Sterling, IL, formerly of Prophetstown, IL, died Sunday, October 9, 2011 at Sterling Pavilion. Phyllis was born June 2, 1927, in Clinton, IA, to Edward and Jeanette (Wilke) Burke. She attended North Side Grade School in Clinton, and then attended the Banes Country School in rural Rock Falls, IL. She graduated from Rock Falls High School. Phyllis married Dean G. Larson on Oct. 1, 1950, in Sterling. He died May 3, 2007. Phyllis was a homemaker and helped her husband, Dean, farm in the rural Prophetstown area. She was a very active member of the Red Meat Connection. She enjoyed reading and latch hooking. Survivors include four daughters, Susan (Terry) Seitz of Grant Park, IL, Joan (George) Eggers of Princeton, IL, Nancy (Curt) Cruse and Judi (Chris) Breitbach, both of Prophetstown, IL; one son, Edward (Kim) Larson of Prophetstown; fourteen grandchildren; three step grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; four step great grandchildren; one sister, Jean Burke of Sterling, IL; two brothers, John Burke of Colorado Springs, CO and Edward Burke of Rock Falls, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dean; one brother, Albert "Bud" Burke.
