Obituary for Pearl I. Shipma
PEARL I. SHIPMA, 94, of Mercy Living Center North, Clinton, IA, formerly of Fulton, IL, died Tuesday, October 18, 2011, at the nursing home. Pearl was born January 25, 1917, in Morrison, IL, to James M. and Mary E. (Gilpin) Hahn. She married James W. Shipma on June 8, 1935 in Morrison. He died July 31, 1981. Pearl was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Reformed Church in Fulton, where she taught Sunday school and participated in the King"s Daughters and the Helping Hands Society. Survivors include one son-in-law, Irving Wiersema, of Fulton; two grandsons, Michael (Rachel) Wiersema and Bryan J. Wiersema; two great grandchildren, Maddison and Hannah Wiersema. She was preceded in death by her husband, James; one daughter, Patricia "Pat" Wiersema; four sisters, Florence Monnier, Helen Hains, Evelyn Wyatt and Edna Blair; three brothers, Stanley, Clifford and Lloyd Hahn.
