Obituary for Paul C. Young
PAUL C. YOUNG, 71, of 646 Genesee Avenue in Morrison, IL and 2052 Stone Court in Bedford, TX died Thursday, April 30, 2009 at his home. Paul was born on September 26, 1937 in Greenville, IL to Shelby Talbot and Emily Lucille (Wolfe) Young. He was educated in the Greenville, IL grade schools and graduated from Greenville High School in 1955. He married Beverly E. Thompson on November 16, 1957 in Greenville, IL. In 1958, Paul was a manager at the Havan Farm Bureau. In 1959 he became the manager of the Tuscola, IL Farm Bureau and in 1962, manager of the Morrison, IL Farm Bureau. In 1973 he began a life-long and very successful career in banking, first as Agricultural Loan Officer and later President of the Smith Trust and Savings Bank in Morrison, retiring in 1999. He was a member of the Morrison Christian Church. Paul was a generous supporter of civic causes and people in need, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, an avid gardener and fisherman, and enjoyed visiting with friends and having coffee. Survivors include his wife, Beverly; one daughter, Diane (Gabriel) Beltran of Bedford, TX; two sons, Jeff (Monica) Young of Geneseo, IL and Gordon (Karen) Young of Carrollton, TX; six grandchildren, Aaron Paul, Matthew Jeffrey, Andrew Thomas, Michele Marie, Nichole Rene, Austin Briggs Young; one step-grandchild, Logan Stein; three great grandchildren, Ayden Paul, Kaelyn Marie, and Leah Grace; two sisters, F. Avis (David) Barnes of North Chili, NY, Sharen (Robert) Suiter of Yucaipa, CA; two brothers, S. Douglas (Joyce) Young of Greenville, IL, Louis L. (Darla) Young of Springfield, MO; mother-in-law, Hazel Thompson of Carbondale, IL; aunt, Edith Hentz of Greenville, IL; daughter-in-law, Dawn Young of Morrison, IL; four nieces and twelve nephews; other special people who have shared our home, Maria Guzman Colmenares, Doug Berg, Lisa Jackson, Maria Olivas Finnestad. He was preceded in death by his parents, Shelby and Emily Lucille Young; and his father-in-law, Milton Thompson.
