Obituary for Patty J. Bollivar
PATTY J. BOLLIVAR, 80, of Prophetstown, IL, died Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at Allure of Prophetstown in Prophetstown, IL.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, June 2, 2023, at the Bosma-Gibson Funeral Home in Prophetstown with Rev. Peter Kicheon Ahn, Pastor of Leon United Methodist Church in Prophetstown, IL, officiating. A visitation will precede the service starting at 12:00 PM until the start of the service. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Prophetstown. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the Leon United Methodist Church and the Prophetstown Ambulance Service.
Patty was born February 23, 1943, in Prophetstown, IL, to Melvin L. and Pauline S. (Lodge) Stone. She was educated in the Prophetstown Grade Schools and was a graduate of Prophetstown High School. She then graduated from Sauk Community College in Dixon, IL. She married John Bollivar on August 20, 1988, in Prophetstown. Patty was a hairdresser for 25 plus years in Prophetstown. She was a member of Leon United Methodist Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher. She enjoyed traveling to Texas for the winter. Patty’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially attending her grandchildren’s sporting events.
Survivors include, her husband, John; two sons, Jim (Bliss) Naftzger of Prophetstown, IL and Mike (Kelly) Naftzger of Loves Park, IL; three stepdaughters, Johnna Haggerty, Jackie Bollivar and JayDeane Berns all of IA; four grandchildren, Matthew Naftzger, Mariah VanDellen, Adam Naftzter and Zayne Naftzger; seven great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Janet Stone of AZ, Reta (Larry) Deets of Prophetstown, IL and Joan McCowan of TX; one brother, Bill Stone of IA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother-in-law, Russ McCowan.
