Obituary for Patricia E. Anglese
PATRICIA E. ANGLESE, 85, of Albany, IL, died on Thursday, February 17, 2022, at MercyOne Medical Center in Clinton, IA.
Her funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, February 25, 2022, at the Albany United Methodist Church with Rev. Toni Lucas officiating. A visitation will be held from 4:00 – 6:00 PM on Thursday, February 24, 2022, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Interment will be at Lusk Memorial Cemetery in Albany. Memorials have been established to MercyOne Hospital Auxiliary and to the Albany United Methodist Church.
Patricia was born March 17, 1936, in Fulton Township, IL, to Fred and Theresa (Ashpole) Holcomb. She was educated in the Dublin Country School in rural Whiteside County and was a graduate of Erie High School. Later in life, Patricia went back to school to become a licensed beautician. She married Wayne C. Anglese on September 18, 1955, in the original Albany United Methodist Church. Patricia took over Holcomb’s Lunch from her mother for a year, when her mother’s health started to decline. After becoming a beautician, she ran Pat’s Beauty Salon from her home for 40 years. She was a member of the Albany United Methodist Church, where she served on the board of trustees, the funeral lunch director and was involved in the United Methodist Woman’s Circle. She coordinated and served on the board of the Albany Food Pantry. Pat was a den mother for the Albany Boy Scouts, a member of the Fulton Boosters and was involved in PTA when her children were young. She served on the Albany Chamber of Commerce and was the head of blood drives. Pat was on the Parks and Recreation Committee for the Village of Albany. She volunteered for the MercyOne Hospital Auxiliary for 25 years. Pat was on the Albany First Trust bowling team in the local bowling league. She loved gardening, tending to her yard and making sure the birds and squirrels were always fed. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and she kept stats for every game. Pat cherished spending time with and attending the sporting events of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Wayne; four children, Steve (Paula) Anglese of Dubuque, IA; Craig (Lisa Porchie) Anglese of Sugar Hill, GA; Rhonda (Stan) Dauen of Albany; Lisa Cosgrove of Bettendorf, IA; ten grandchildren, Shannon (Corey) Manderscheid, Ryan Anglese, Rachel (Craig) Lyons, Brandon (Victoria Heinsohn) Anglese, Dustin Dauen, Amber (Lovell) Broadenaux, Byron Dauen, Kendal (Jordan) Cosgrove, Mitchel Cosgrove and Kara (Jeremy Anderson) Cosgrove; eighteen great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Celia Huizenga and Bonnie Holcomb; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Theresa; one sister, Nancy Bielema; four brothers, Frank, Donald, Russell and Jack Holcomb; one daughter-in-law, Lisa Anglese; four sisters-in-law, Bonnie (Jack) Holcomb, Marge (Frank) Holcomb, Marlies (Jim) Anglese and Karen (Don) Berridge.
