Obituary for Owen "Mac" G. McCulloh
Owen “Mac” G. McCulloh, 81, of Morrison, IL, died Monday, April 23, 2018, at Resthave Home in Morrison.
The funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, April 29, 2018, at the Morrison United Methodist Church with Rev. Ryan Sutton officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Saturday, April 28, 2018, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Interment will be at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison. A memorial to Morrison United Methodist Church has been established.
Owen was born March 25, 1937, in Morrison, IL, to Howard and Mae (Smith) McCulloh. He was educated in the Unionville Grade Schools in rural Whiteside County and was a 1955 graduate of Morrison High School. Owen married Judy A. Schroeder on August 30, 1957, in Morrison. He was first employed by the Morrison Telephone Company. He then owned and operated Mac’s Body Shop in Morrison for 25 years. After retiring from Mac’s Body Shop, he worked at Yarbrough Appliance and Whiteside County Farm Bureau both in Morrison. Owen was a member of the Morrison United Methodist Church where he served on the building committee. He was a member of the Morrison Lions Club and served on the Morrison Historical Society board. Owen was a member and past president of the Illinois-Iowa Antique Car Club. He enjoyed bowling and camping and was an avid miniature train enthusiast.
Survivors include his wife, Judy; one daughter, Kandy (Steve) Heller of Morrison, IL; six granddaughters, April (Charles) Anderson, Amber (Dan) Blumhoff, Melissa McCulloh, Kara McCulloh, Tamara McCulloh, and Mikayla McCulloh; seven great-grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Lisa McCulloh of Simi Valley, CA; and one brother, Larry (Rose) McCulloh of Rockford, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Kevin G. McCulloh; and one brother, Ellsworth McCulloh.
